A document published by the cryptocurrency security company SlowMist lists over 8,620 Solana addresses that may be connected to the DEXX hacker.
A security flaw in the memecoin trading terminal DEXX on November 16 caused losses for at least 900 distinct users. A private key leak cost the majority of victims less than $10,000, but one person lost more than $1 million, according to MistTrack.
Although Thala recovered all lost assets, the initial report of the incident’s total loss was $21 million, making it the second-largest hack in November after the $25.5 million Thala hack. Cos, the founder of SlowMist, told Cointelegraph that DEXX’s overall loss has increased as of Nov. 29.
“The total loss is estimated to be within $30 million. The price fluctuation of meme tokens has a significant impact on the overall loss,” Cos said.
DEXX has promised to reimburse impacted users and is working with SlowMist and law enforcement to look into the attack. However, the amount of money recovered will determine the compensation plan.
